This painting depicts a man deep in thought, as he approaches a large floor-to-ceiling window, and the new dawn sun shines through it. I used mainly acrylic paint, which I layered heavily to create the dynamic colors and shades, the colors in this painting change depending on the light you're in, it's really so much more beautiful in person. I'm quite proud of this piece and the colors and hues I was able to create. In this piece I see hope and a feeling of content, which I hope comes across to the viewer. Thank you for looking.
Hello! My name is Leslie Jean Porter and I am an artist working in Southern California. Throughout my life I have expressed myself through a variety of media, including film, photography and costume, but my current passion is painting. After graduating from Bard College in New York, I began a whirlwind career across Europe. I worked with everyone from fashion designer Louis Feraud to renowned indie film director Robert Altman. In 1994, I was named Head of Acquisitions for Ciby 2000, a major film production company in France.
