Artist's Description

This is one of my favorite paintings that I have ever worked on. I meticulously layered brushstroke upon brushstroke to create texture throughout the entire canvas. I chose my colors carefully, to ensure that a ray of golden light completely envelopes the woman at the foreground. I hope the viewer will appreciate the effort and care that went into this painting.

Hello! My name is Leslie Jean Porter and I am an artist working in Southern California. Throughout my life I have expressed myself through a variety of media, including film, photography and costume, but my current passion is painting. After graduating from Bard College in New York, I began a whirlwind career across Europe. I worked with everyone from fashion designer Louis Feraud to renowned indie film director Robert Altman. In 1994, I was named Head of Acquisitions for Ciby 2000, a major film production company in France. During my time there, I worked closely with some of the greatest independent directors of this generation, including Robert Altman, David Lynch, Pedro Almodovar, and many more.
